Designed by Arba, the retreat’s enclosed garden provides outdoor space out of the wind while the cuts give it a strong connection with the setting.

To provide Rick and Lucy with the pops of color they craved, Andrea's team created a colorful kitchen tile wall and painted select cabinetry with muted hues so that the color generates moments of surprise and delight throughout the home.

Located in Lavia in southwest Finland with nary a neighbor in sight, the remote cabin is set close to a lake and surrounded by a swamp and an old forest. The site was selected for its lake views and close connection to nature. "On some days you can see moose, deer, and traces of lynx," say the designers, who use the cabin as a retreat from city life.
