The crown jewel of the down stairs bathroom is a custom basalt stone sink sourced from Etsy seller AegeanMarble. Alta Projects was inspired by the stone that’s seen throughout Yosemite National Park, most notably in El Capitan.

The large stone fireplace cleverly serves multiple purposes. It is a grounding feature in the primarily glass design, creates a cozy atmosphere in winter months, and functions as an important structural element that makes the vast expanses of glass possible.

The architects experiment with minimal space, equipped and designed to the millimetre, using Computer Numerical Controlled technology (CNC milling).

When the IWI is extended, it becomes a living space that contains everything necessary to fulfill its different functions, like office, yoga studio, relaxation space, or place to enjoy your morning coffee with a view.

Capped with a soaring roofline, the home appears to be emerging from its desert setting.

Erica and her mom enjoy cooking together, and this kitchen makes that easy to do so, with an expanded footprint, leathered quartzite counters, and custom white oak cabinetry. Shoe storage was built-in by the exterior door, with a slim cupboard for cleaning supplies.
