The feeling of being on the bridge of a ship is very strong in the main room. A strict pallet or marine grade, natural traditional materials sourced locally and applied by heritage builders create a clean backdrop to the owner’s art selection.

Zachary surrounded the owners’ existing table with a set of vintage chairs upholstered in Zac & Fox fabric. The chandelier is from Anthropologie.

Custom-made by JHID in collaboration with The Works Construction and Trio Upholstery, the wraparound sofa features emerald-green, cotton velvet upholstery by Maharam. The wall sconce is by Allied Maker, and the ceiling mount lighting is by Illuminate Vintage.

"Stephanie used every inch of crawl space for built-ins so there is a ton of storage," shares Hixton. Dyer also added a washer and dryer discretely set behind doors for added convenience for the couple and any future caretaker.

LYGA reconstructed this living space with vaulting that is wider than the existing vaulting and plaster wall frames in a gray-green color.

Architecture and design studio LYGA used an intense blue-green paint for the arched threshold in the main living area to create chromatic richness and a romantic mood.

The home's oak parquet flooring strikes contrast with traditional Sicilian patterned tiles.

Large sections of this wall are painted bright blue and gray-green, but the architects were careful not to allow the bold colors to overwhelm the space.
