“There’s something about it that feels very contextual to where it is—on a little teeny hill, looking out over the Dry Creek Valley, and there’s nothing else artful around,” says Louis.

A large deck off the great room not only encouarages indoor-outdoor living but its floor-to-ceiling glass fills the space with natural light.

The house is arranged in a modified L-shape, with shared public spaces in the east wing (at left), the master bedroom at the western corner, and a four-bedroom residential wing (right) facing north.

The gallery's new home is set up in a restored 1950s building, which boasts a trove of original detail, including stone and concrete walls, bay windows, and flowing, minimalist curves.

The cabins, which are available to rent on AirBnB, are outfitted with all the basic essentials needed for a private getaway.

Located within walking distance to the coastal village of Matanzas, the two Maralto cabins are named La Loica and La Tagua after local bird species.

Cedar, glass, and concrete combine in this minimalist pool house that draws inspiration from Mies van der Rohe’s 1929 Barcelona Pavilion. The pool house, built into a mountainside west of Montreal and designed by Halifax–based MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, employs board-formed concrete for the home's expressive exterior.

Trees provide welcome shade during the summer months.
