In the dining room, the original steel window mullions were painted Farrow and Ball's Radicchio red, along with the railings and stairs below. The dining table is vintage David Naylor, and the chairs are vintage Danish modern with custom upholstery in Ghanaian textiles.

The Garduno-Heiser House above Silver Lake has a daring cantilever, vintage tile, and original walnut cabinetry.

“Economy was always at the forefront of all of our decision making due to the high cost of building in California,” explains Kille. But that did not stop her and the design team from selecting strong color choices, like green kitchen cabinets and a bold orange-red front door.

“My orange cats look really good in the green kitchen now,” says Nicola.

For the primary ensuite bedroom, Hylton-Daniel designed and added a small deck that connects the space to the outdoors.

The en suite bath in the primary suite presents a free-standing, vintage clawfoot tub, a large glass shower, towel warmer, and custom mosaic tiled floors.

The Manhattan apartment has a private elevator, 11-foot ceilings, and immense arched windows overlooking the Hudson River.

"When we found a home with two bedrooms, we figured it would be way more fun to add on a master suite that would meet our needs and also style," notes LeAnne.

The brick-and-glass residence accommodates limited mobility with a lift between levels and seamless thresholds between indoors and out.
