Winkelman Architecture delivers grown-up summer-camp vibes with this unassuming retreat on the coast of Maine.

Silvano Zamò, third-generation winemaker at Le Vigne di Zamò winery, and his wife Brigitte tasked architecture firm GEZA with a holiday home on a hilltop location in the tiny northern Italian village of Camporosso, not far from the ski resort Monte Lussari.

The exterior of Site Shack is covered in steel panels that are bolted to the framing. Look closely and you won’t see any visible fasteners, as Powers Construction’s welder was fastidious, creating a seamless shell with just steel and glass.

The site is full of forest and Canadian Shield rock—including a large rock outcrop along the lake that rises up to the height of the second floor.

For privacy amidst the bustling marina, the Wedgie turns its back to the south and embraces views of the bush toward the north.

The concrete foundation was poured on top of a rock outcropping, so that the house would feel like part of the natural features of the site.

The low-profile home sits in a quiet suburb of Philadelphia.

The home is located in the Movie Colony East neighborhood, on land that was once part of the Frank Sinatra estate before it was subdivided.

The upper floor wraps the main living space below, allowing for picturesque views from both levels of the home. Coffee bean tables by Holly Hunt sit atop a silk Tai Ping rust carpet, adjacent to a custom Living Divani Sofa.

Plant Prefab was originally established in 2016 as an offshoot of LivingHomes, a design and development company that’s built dozens of award-winning prefabs—including actor Will Arnett's home.

Because the architects wanted to showcase the view of one of the more majestic oaks on the property, they placed a lap pool below the tree so the mirror-like surface of the water would gracefully reflect its image.
