The frosted glass-fronted cabinet in the living room contains shoes and bags on the side by the entrance and tableware nearer to the kitchen.

In a seaside holiday home in Taiwan, two goals were the focus of the design: a dominant pink palette, reflecting the homeowner's favorite color, and a feline-friendly interior for her three cats. The pink hues are offset by the easy-to-clean, dynamic terrazzo surfaces, and the pink is given depth and texture thanks to a mineral paint.

The walls and flooring are covered in terrazzo, which either appears a single shade of blue, red, or green, or in a black-and-white checkered pattern.

This colorful terrazzo makes a bold statement against the all-white cabinetry.

“I don’t paint landscapes when I’m here because I can’t compete with the natural beauty,” says Yael.

Dzek Marmoreal flooring and tadelakt walls (a traditional Moroccan wall surfacing technique) surround the tub in the garden-level bathroom. 

The bathroom features terrazzo floor tiles—which have a similar pattern to the material used to construct the fireplace in the living room.
