In the New York loft that he shares with two friends, industrial designer Joshua Skirtich covered one wall of his 8-by-11 bedroom/ design studio with a pegboard for organizing his tools. A plywood desk runs the length of the room, accommodating Joshua’s 3D-printing equipment at one end and clothing drawers at the other.

In the study, a metallic-silver bubble lamp from Brooklyn Vintage sits on an Ikea dresser that Lizzy painted with bright, geometric patterns. The Checkmate Shag Rug is from Aelfie. The vintage fabric palm tree sculpture—visible in the mirror’s reflection—is from The Mod Weekend.

In the kitchen area, dusty pink cabinets are topped with a terrazzo counter and backsplash with integrated shelf. Gold accents, via the canisters, flatware, and faucet, lend a little glam.

Designer Esther Bruzkus embraced bold color and texture in her Berlin apartment, leaving the window coverings to play a more subtle role.

In her daughter’s room “She’s a Wildflower Wallpaper” from Lust Home joins a different color on every wall, all from Sherwin Williams, including “Blue Lapis,” “California Lilac,” “Spring Azalea,” and “Deep Carnation.” The ceiling light is from Sazerac Stitches.

Guta Louro says, "I let my space speak for me and allow others to interpret it as they desire, and the empty spaces and the thought-out placement of the pieces (I believe) says a lot about me."

Marita painted the kitchen floor in a checked pattern, and added Rifle Paper Co “Peacock Wallpaper” in Emerald to go with the kitchen cabinets painted Benjamin Moore "Forest Green.

"If I can't see it properly it usually goes to waste, so it's important that I know what's where," Downing Pickens says of her kitchen supply. Organization is especially needed when kitchens are being used more often that usual.
