In addition to beds, the family needed more lounge space, so the team added a couch to the living area.

The outdoor areas were designed with two perspectives in mind. “Typically people focus on making the house look beautiful from the outside,” says Briana. “Because of all the windows, I wanted to also consider how we experience the outside from the inside.

A plethora of oak hooks provide hanging storage in the room.

Karvelius gave the room floor-to-ceiling tile, and designed a new shower rod as an oak update of traditional ceiling-suspended metal rods.

Ren and Karvelius designed and installed a custom storage piece that doesn’t disturb the original fixtures, like the trim and radiator.

In the primary bath, the vanity countertop and integrated sink is done in the same micro-topping material as the room’s walls and floors.

The master bedroom is a peaceful retreat against a backdrop of a Louise Gray wall tapestry, wall sconces from Rich Brilliant Willing, and Menu Fungi Shelves. Snowe linens outfit the bed, which boasts an Avocado mattress, and the Nest Rug is from Armadillo & Co.

“The house is still in its original state. Our job was to bring in some color,” says Lezanne.

“We’d go to the salvage yard every weekend and painstakingly go through hundreds of windows, see one that might work, write down the measurements, run out to Jeff’s truck, and put it in the SketchUp model,” says Molly. The chair is by Christophe Pillet for Emu.
