Every space, including the living and dining sections seen here, has “furniture, objects and artworks that bring us memories,” says Smud. The bench, coffee tables, and dining table are by the late Alejandro Sticotti.

“I wanted you to come into a place that was inviting, but with a muted warmth,” says Kara of the decision to immerse the dining room in Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke, including walls, ceiling, cabinetry, and fireplace, the latter with a relocated mantel. The table is a 17th C. Spanish Walnut Trestle Rectangular Dining Table via Restoration Hardware, surrounded by Ceremonie Green Mohair dining chairs by Athena Calderone, from Crate&Barrel. The Tambor Buffet, beneath windows that Seamus relocated from elsewhere in the house, is from Anthropologie.

The property is surrounded by mature oaks and red-earth ravines, and de la Vega and Cano-Lasso wanted the home to reflect that. The structure was built in a factory and the walls were whitewashed on site.

With the kitchen moved to the living area, Misha, Sarolta and her husband Lukas’s son, has a room of his own. It mingles Valchromat cabinets with an Abra rug and shelf of Sarolta’s design.
