A small country road borders the property to the west.

The living room leads to a private outdoor patio. Before the renovation, the slightly below grade area was in plain sight to passersby, as it lays adjacent to the public walkway into the building. This less-than-ideal setup was addressed in the redesign by adding a slatted cedar perimeter fence, along with tall trees and shrubs. Clever hidden doors conceal patio storage under the entry walkway.

The dining table, a custom design by Formwork, and red Non chairs by Komplot complement the addition’s cypress cladding.

A look at one of two full baths shows the decorative wallpaper on display throughout the home.

Inside, the crisp white walls, ceilings, and floors serve as a blank backdrop for the art.

The floors are a handmade ceramic tile and the vanity is covered in micro-cement, with a stone vessel basin.

The realistic grain pattern of TimberTech provides a contrasting warmth to the concrete and stone elements of the pool deck. “We chose it because it looks like something you’d see at a resort,” says Peter.

Generous concrete pavers lead to the entrance. The home's angles are typical of the midcentury homes in the neighborhood.

Custom walnut cabinetry designed by Michael Weidner at Radhaus Kabinett Co. are framed by a Cambria Brittanicca Warm backsplash and topped with Q Premium Natural Quartz and Calico white quartz countertops.

In the foyer, an accent wall covered in Farrow & Ball Helleborus wallpaper sets the tone for the home’s retro-meets-contemporary aesthetic.

A large soaking tub in the guest suite bath is lit by a picturesque floor-to-ceiling window along the tubs edge.
