More Japanese minka than Sears Roebuck, this kit home in the Bay Area—complete with a meditation room—provided the right bones for a renovation.

Inside, polished concrete floors run throughout, connecting the expansive living room and dining area. The remodeled kitchen is cleverly situated in the center, open-air atrium.

The restored residence sits in the heart of the historic neighborhood of Deepwell Estates, amidst countless palm trees and the surrounding mountain range.

The apartment takes up the entire 17th and 18th floors of the building, and is located just a short five-minute walk from the studio where Trevor recorded “The Daily Show.”

While a sculpture-filled, Japanese-inspired garden welcomes guests near the carpark at the front, a sparkling pool and jacuzzi awaits in the backyard, surrounded by lush greenery.

Floor-to-ceiling, built-in shelving lines the hallway leading to one of the four bedrooms.

Steps from the kitchen is the spacious main living area, complete with vaulted ceilings and an original brick fireplace. Extensive glazing frames panoramic mountain views.

Natural light fills the interior thanks to large casement windows and skylights.
