The home is crafted from glass, timber, and steel—a simple yet refined palette that complements the spectacular natural setting. The deck is surrounded by lush planting that further integrates the built form into the landscape and offers a green outlook from inside, while a “Zen garden” on the lower level introduces greenery to the interior.

Thanks to its central Del Cerro location, the historic home presents a serene city escape while also offering easy access to a variety of popular shops, restaurants, and cafes.

The one-level residence sits nestled among a forest of soaring trees and lush landscaping. Though it offers a quiet, remote escape, the home is only a five-minute drive to Nyack and 35 minutes to New York City.

While the new facade is swathed in black stucco, it maintains elements of the original carriage house, which is hidden within the wall. Beyond the grounding stucco base, Healey designed two white volumes to be seen above, teasing the idea that more exists beyond the entry point.

Years of neglect had taken their toll on the 1950s Atlanta bungalow that Briana Babani and Dominic Cancilla bought in 2017.

The exposed rafters were carried into the exterior areas, including the covered patio.
