Before: the kitchen was wrapped in dark paneled wood and featured a very tight layout.
A new entry was created with a door set at a slightly lower elevation than the original.
"We bumped up the roof line in two spots to create dramatic ceilings in the living area and flood the rooms with light," explains Hannah. "The brick and hardboard were then painted black, and we added cedar siding to add depth."
The modern kitchen feels much more bright and airy with greater access to natural light and all-white cabinetry.
Shoe cubbies are built into the custom millwork shelving in the entryway.
Before: located in the West Meade neighborhood, the original house featured a red-brick exterior with cream-colored, hardboard banding.
Formerly the garage, the new living room feels bright and spacious thanks to large windows, white walls, and a vaulted ceiling.
