Brandão Costa Arquitectos placed concrete atop the original stone mass to fill-in existing irregularities and create a new clean roofline for this renovation in Caminha, Portugal.

The Smiths’ new cabin, designed by Risa Boyer Architecture and completed in 2020, sits in the same spot as their previous home, on five acres on Mount Veeder, in Northern California. Somehow, the red chicken coop, which is constructed of wood, survived the fire with the chickens still alive inside.

This 1929 loft-style residence is nestled in the historic Master Apartments building, located at the corner of Riverside Drive and 103rd Street in Manhattan's Upper West Side. The lower level spans over 500 square feet and features the kitchen and main living area.

The raw pine cabinetry in the kitchen ties to the raw pine flooring, ceilings, and beams that outfit all of the other rooms in the house.
