The Invisacook induction range sits beneath the porcelain countertops, giving the couple, who love to cook together, a few extra feet of prep space. The architects removed the original hinges on the cabinets, replacing them with a hidden version that modernizes the look.

The lower level now has three bedrooms that can flex in use, and this communal hangout spot lined with windows and a glass door. David and Isabel didn't want the downstairs to feel too dark in comparison to the upper level.

The existing ceiling treatment at the window was extended to the rest of the ceiling in the room, as well as the new bathroom.
