A pink concrete dining-cum-coffee table holds a fire-pit at one end, where it’s surrounded by a pair of Gae Aulenti lounge chairs, a Tufty Time sofa from B&B Italia, and a Mies van der Rohe Barcelona chair. The 1930s dining chairs are by Hynek Gottwald.

The home is clad in a yellow Alaskan cedar timber, which will silver as it patinas to create a soft palette of greys with the galvanized roof and gutters. “I wanted the house to be different levels and textures of gray,” says Michael.

Set on a storied site, the Colorado Camelot Tree House offers a place to rest after traipsing through the pines, wildflowers, mushrooms, and moss-covered rocks.

The fully furnished Scandinavian-style home comes with a firepit and easy access to the Cascade River.

Set to one side of the property, the lap pool is tucked into the landscape and positioned to take in the views. “There’s nothing more luxurious than a lap pool when you’re a swimmer, but I didn’t want to be looking at a sad pool in winter,” says Michael. “If I were living in California or someplace like that, it would be right in front of me all the time. But here, it's off to the side. So it's kind of its own world.”

The Polyhaus comes in three separate styles and sizes: The Tetra-One (540 square feet) for $300,000; and the Tetra-Two (980 square feet) and Tetra-Three (1,165 square feet) both priced at $400,000.

Naraa opens a roof vent to let out steam from the stove. “For twenty-five years we have lived only in gers, no matter the season,” he says. “I will continue living in the ger as long as I can.... That way we can keep up the tradition of our ancestors.”

A worm filter system treats all of the home’s black water, producing fertilizer to regenerate the soil.
