Since Honka 1958, Honka has produced over 90,000 buildings built using Finnish wood in more than 50 countries.

The circles on the gallery’s wall indicate areas of repair, where small hand-cut stones were used to fill in the gaps between large stones and left exposed. An oversize pendant designed by Angela hangs from the ceiling. It’s made of fibers from the sansevieria (snake) plant that were tinted with a natural dye from a local tree.

The living room includes an ottoman made of 11,000 feet of hand-spun thread from the sansevieria plant.

They may have built this family cabin economically, but view of the ocean is priceless.

One big budget-saver was eliminating the drywall and embracing the raw plywood finish (plus a light stain).

Sitting on a large lot, the backyard has room for a unqiuely L-shaped pool.

With double height ceilings, the living room windows reach well above eyeline.

The uniquie dark plaster walls were custom for the bathroom.

For the flooring, designer David Lucido imported Stalitillo tile.

The project encompasses four rentable cabins that can each accommodate up to three guests.
