A new trapezoid window follows the angle of the roof, and large new sliding doors connect to the deck, allowing the once dark and cramped living room to feel open and inviting.

A trio of Schoolhouse ‘Isaac’ sconces flank the kitchen wall, and Heath Ceramics Little Diamond tiles create the striking new backsplash.

Tom and team tackled the poured concrete counters themselves – the concrete, mesh form, and edge forms set them back only about $340. The matte black kitchen faucet is from Brizo, and the corner shelves are pine from a local mill, supported by floating brackets from Shelfology.

The spectacular kitchen renovation includes repurposed cabinets, almost entirely unrecognizable after their modern facelift. The original cabinets were painted (Benjamin Moore 'Onyx') and reinstalled in an updated configuration. Even the new kitchen peninsula was made from reused original cabinets.
