DeNiord designed a simple concrete bench with a honed top to run parallel to the randomly sized concrete pads that lead to the covered entry. He planted blueberry bushes behind the bench and a river birch tree behind the boulder. To conjure a wabi-sabi feel outdoors, diNiord poured concrete around a boulder. “It represents the interruption of perfect geometry,” he says.

A family chose MyCabin to construct prefab structures in their home country of Latvia. The prefab structures have space for work, sleep, and relaxation.

In the living area, Jeremy, left, and Joe relax on a green Muuto sectional. “We never would have chosen it on our own,” says Joe, extending praise to their architects for nudging them to take chances. “Now we can’t imagine any other sofa. It’s perfect.” The velvet sofa upholstery in Moss is from Knoll, while the rug is from Armadillo.

An oversized soaking tub awaits in the main bathroom.

Another well-lit space in the property is the home office, which can also easily be converted into a gym, yoga studio, or another bedroom, if desired.

The all-white color palette continues on the upper level and into the three bedrooms.

Floor-to-ceiling windows span the walls in the living room, complete with a cozy desk area.

Bespoke cabinetry is built into the main staircase, offering an abundance of storage space.

The courtyard also features a thriving garden which can be observed from the living room.
