Guest Bath
The bathrooms are reminiscent of a luxe spa with sleek fixtures and soothing amenities like a soaking tub.
The master bedroom includes a luxurious ensuite bath with a white Thassos marble shower box and subtly-patterned Flores tiles by Mutina. The white oak continues in the vanity, with a Thassos top, vanity lighting by Aamsco, and all fixtures by Dornbracht.
The Heath tiles in the bathroom were hand-selected from boxes of factory seconds.
The residents, who previously lived in Japan, asked that the bathroom be modeled after a Japanese-style bathhouse. Wood-effect porcelain tiles from Ariostea line the shower and tub area.
Porceilain tiles, in Metalwood "Argento," line an ensuite shower designed to be handicap accessible. The bathroom's oversized soaker tub is also easily accessible. All bathroom fixtures are by Grohe.
Master Bath
Cedar paneling vaulted ceilings rain shower in the Roman tub- recalls the gentle rainstorm among the redwood trail.
“I got rid of the bathtub because I like the idea of a big shower,” Pozner explains. But to achieve a comparable effect, he installed a teak bench from Waterworks on the rear shower wall. “One of the things I like about a bath is that you can soak. Here I can sit and have the water pound on me—it’s a hybrid shower and bath.”
"I put everything that I've always loved into this house," says Tyler—and that includes white tiles edged with gray grout in the bathroom, a design move previous clients had balked at.
Six-inch-square blue tiles cover the walls and floor of the girls’ upstairs bathroom. The towels and rug are also by H&M Home.
In the kitchen, Fougeron and her team designed a nook backed with sliding panels and lined in green felt from FilzFelt. Solo Wide Dining Chairs by Neri & Hu for De la Espada surround a Dizzie table by Lievore Altherr Molina from Arper.

In the kitchen, an “Alpine Mist’ Caesarstone slab tops Alder cabinets. A mint green custom steel hood conceals a Vent-a-Hood insert, and Ann Sacks ‘Context’ tile in Frost covers the backsplash.
SHED embraced the angled corners with custom cabinetry. According to Hale, the inspiration images that the couple chose were “less American Midwest farmhouse, and more contemporary Scandinavian farmhouse,” which inspired the design team to consult Scandinavian farm layouts for the master plan.
The family sat on two dozen different sofas trying to find the right mix of comfort and sleekness before deciding custom was the way to go. A deep-cushioned, slim-backed piece—built by Luke Parsons Millwork—fits just right and somehow makes the whole space just seem bigger. It also features pull-out footstools, a coffee table and concealed storage for blankets. Custom upholstery is by The Big Stuff.
