The 9-year-old twins’ quarters are organized into a volume that includes their beds and cupboards. Since it was adjusted within a previously existing bedroom, there’s only one window on his side; that’s why the divide between the two chambers doesn’t go all the way up, so the natural light can also reach her.

The 6,000-gallon koi pond is a favorite spot for the couple to hang.

In the dining area, a Nelson Saucer Bubble Pendant hangs above the dining table.

The kitchen sits underneath a workloft accessible by a wooden ship's ladder. Callie's dad Trevor Hilpert fabricated the ladder and much of the loft casework in his San Juan Island woodshop.

The upstairs loft enjoys views through the forest to the water below.

Carving away the home's volume at the corner helps soften it towards the sloping site and the open meadow.
