A quintessential example of Buff, Straub & Hensman’s post-and-beam style, the Thompson Moseley House also happens to be totally in sync with what homebuyers are looking for in 2021.

Thanks to Decorotation’s intervention, the rear façade looks balanced and true to the Eichler spirit.

Custom white oak cabinets compose the kitchen. They’re topped with Calacatta Bella Honed Marble. Fiber Stools by Muuto are tucked under the counter.

An inset shelf is a nice moment at the end of the counter. The globe lights are original, painted white.

The fireplace was cleaned and painted. An original wall of wood paneling was preserved and extended through the home. “We wanted one full wall of the paneling to connect front of the house to the back,” say the designers. In the dining room, the Log table by Hem is surrounded by Cover chairs by Muuto. The chandelier is Brendan Ravenhill.

With nods to both Maine vernacular and contemporary forms and materials, the home is clad in cedar boards and capped with steeply pitched roofs to dispatch snow and water.

“Everything in the bedroom is built in, including the bed,” adds Keith, who commissioned Hub Woodworks to mill this key feature. Andrew Neyer Crane lights flank the bed, an Akari pendant by Isamu Noguchi hangs overhead, and a Womb chair by Eero Saarinen for Knoll, covered in Cassia fabric from Designers Guild, sits in the corner.

The red and yellow masonry features are made of glazed bricks from Pacific Clay, and the woodstove is from Fire Orb.
