The elegantly curved shape of the open shower in the master bathroom came from the couple's desire to not have to deal with cleaning a glass door or having a curtain. The opening also allows some natural light to enter the shower. The vertically-positioned rectangular tiles are from Portland company Clayhaus Modern Tile.

“It was important to the client to be conscious of the environmental impact of their rolling home,” says designer Matthew Welsh Weinberger. “We went with a dual-compartment composting toilet, a Nebia shower unit, and solar for much of the daily power needs. We eventually switched not only the bus, but also the gas generator, to a sustainable diesel alternative.”

The custom modern steel basin in the kids' bathroom was inspired by schoolyard drinking troughs.

The brass fixtures are from Gessie’s GOCCIA series. Brass borders add "a sharp edge to the tiled, curved spaces." The scalloping appears in this space on a large deconstructed scale as well as in the curved detail of the floating vanity.

The powder room features Dulux Australia’s Briar paint.

In the bathroom, glass divides the shower area and toilet for an open feel. The low-flow shower head by Nebia cuts water use by 65% compared to a traditional fixture.

The bathroom is accessed via a partition door with a full-length mirror. The room also features a sizable shower, a dry toilet with a stainless-steel bucket and chip compartment, a large wardrobe, and a washing machine.

The shower room and WC on the lower ground floor is accessed via the utility room, which also features counters by Smile Plastics.

Dimarmi Bianco porcelain tile extends from the primary bath’s floor into the shower.

A primary suite was created on the new second level, complete with a freestanding tub.

The master bathroom has a floor-to-ceiling windowed corner that holds a Belle freestanding tub by Progetto and in-wall fixtures by Copper Bath.

The woodburning sauna stove is made by a Finnish company, IKI.

In the bathroom, the teal mosaic tile hug the curves of the walls, ceiling, and built-in shelving.
