“This Gordon home has been well preserved, curated, and cared for by its owners—and it shows,” notes the agent. “It is a private and peaceful enclave.”

The home enjoys a connection with the surrounding landscape with views from every room that invite the 100-acre site into the interior. “The framed views from each room are a source of pride for us,” says architect Meelena Oleksiuk Turkel. “They illustrate the way in which we design for a specific site, bringing the outdoors into the home and making the most of what the homeowners love about their land.”

Located off paved roads, across a river, and up a mountain, Pablo Pérez Palacios’s cabin in the Mexican wilderness has a rooftop terrace designed for entertaining.

Designed in the early 1950s by architect Roscoe Hemenway for the inventor of the famous View–Master toy, this ranch house was reimagined by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson for enhanced views, light, and indoor/outdoor connection.

A new window adds natural light, and the room feels much bigger thanks to a glass enclosure for the shower. Jessica added custom concrete details throughout, along with Kohler faucets, Burke Decor sconces, and Wayfair mirrors.

The sophisticated white motif of this bathroom capitalizes on its natural light.

Custom oak cabinetry and marble counters and backsplash define the small kitchen in the open plan. The rug is by Armadillo & Co.

The couple designed the oak built-ins to tuck under the existing high windows, making sure the new wood tones meld with the existing wood on the floor and ceiling.

A custom sofa anchors the space, with a custom rug from Armadillo & Co. A Wittus fireplace was designed into the custom millwork.

In the kitchen, the couple kept the original cabinets and "beautiful, custom-rolled stainless-steel counters,” says Christine. They updated the island counter, flooring, and backsplash, adding Foro marble, Concrete Collaborative tiles, and Cle tile, respectively.

The couple preserved the original fireplace treatment. A B&B Italia sectional sits atop a Ben Selomani rug with Arne Norell chairs. The large-scale artwork is by Christine.

The second-floor bedrooms feature built-in nooks with storage.

The studio is insulated, wired for electricity, and air conditioned. The wood-clad interior features a custom-built office system.
