The walk-in shower has a skylight, and is covered in Ann Sacks Square Arcilla tile, which the architects chose because it doesn’t look "too precise." The floor is Waterworks terrazzo.

A new plywood screen separates the entryway from the kitchen while visually connecting it to the renovated living and dining rooms.

For the exterior, Danielle and Ely touched up the blue paint, matching the color as best they could. They built a new deck with the help of a contractor friend, which holds an existing hot tub.

Ali’s artworks line the studio desk and a painting by his son decorates the wall.

The walls are covered in Milestone cement plaster.

The new structural support at the island is a slim intervention that enabled the firm to open up the kitchen to the rest of the home.

If you're looking to recreate this look in a home bathroom, Cooper thinks its best for small spaces. "Keep it contained if you are living with it every day," he says. "It's fun to go all out in a small powder room or secondary bathroom you don't use all the time. In your primary bathroom, you will likely get sick of it if you push it too far."

"We wanted this to be a fully-immersive environment in and out of the shower," Cooper says. His team decided to create a custom terrazzo based off of the same material that was found during demolition.

The walls and flooring are covered in terrazzo, which either appears a single shade of blue, red, or green, or in a black-and-white checkered pattern.

Hang lavender from your shower head for added relaxation and a soothing scent.

In the en suite bath on the second floor, a concrete floor gives way to a round, tiled, double-height space that culminates in a skylight. Plants hang on either side of a custom shower-head from Still Bathrooms. The faucets is from Crestial and the pendants are from Spazio Lighting.

The floor tiles are from Popham Design in a custom palette, paired with handmade subway tile in an earthy, off-white color.

The guest bathroom features bright turquoise Arcilla Field tiles by Ann Sacks and brass fixtures and fittings that will develop a patina over time. A skylight above the shower provides natural light and brightens the room.
