The dark, timber-clad walls and ceilings recall the building's pastoral heritage while presenting a calming oasis for guests to sleep, read, and unwind.

The bedroom on the main level is fitted with wide-plank floorboards, whitewashed walls, and exposed beam ceilings—presenting a quiet refuge with a similar aesthetic to the living spaces.

The dining area is located in what used to be the passageway between the house and the barn. A Moon luminaire by designer Davide Groppi hangs above the table, with tall, sliding glass doors extending the space to the enclosed yard.

Situated in the former barn, the small yet fully functional kitchen offers all new appliances. The blue cabinet unit adds a bold pop of color to the room's neutral palette.

A Czech designer partners with local stonemasons and carpenters to convert a tattered structure into a boutique guesthouse in the Carpathian Mountains.

As part of the renovation, the former entrance hall was converted into the main living room.

Daniela decorated the home with simple pieces that would emphasize the interior's original details. In the living room, the gray sofa complements the stone floors while wooden furniture contrasts with the whitewashed walls.

Before renovations, the farm had been abandoned for some 17 years.

During construction, the roof of the tractor barn was removed and reinsulated.

"There was a hayloft above the tractor barn that we ended up taking out," von Weise says. "We ended up taking the whole roof off of the barn structure and rebuilt it so we could insulate it."

Vibrant red siding references the original buildings on the site.
