A simple wood-finished kitchen.

After deeming the original structure unfit for renovation, Chris worked with the Corrigans to raze it and rebuild. With the addition of a lower level, the top floor now sits higher, with clarified sight lines. In the kitchen, a pass-through window connects to the deck, where the couple often entertain; Chris, Jack, Ellen, and Lara Deam enjoy the view.

The long standing-seam zinc roof extends over the pool to provide shade to the outdoor lounge.

Sliding glazed doors open the ground-floor bedroom up to the outdoors. The timber bench was locally crafted.

On the upper level of a timber home in Chile is a corridor with a studio, library, and gallery that leads to the ensuite master bedroom. In this understated space, a single, dramatic pendant light hangs, making use of an exposed bulb.

The ceilings of the attic slope downwards towards level of the cullis, to create a more cloistered atmosphere.

Continuous windows draw daylight deep into the space, while providing views of the distant landscape and sky beyond.
