Family room is a comprised of the living room, dining room, kitchen and home bar. The kitchen with American black walnut cabinetry including walnut cabinet pulls, knobs and countertop at island complimented with smoked oak floors by Shengaris. The backsplash is a light green fan/fish scale pattern from Mission Tile West over a Caesarstone countertop with a full Thermador appliance suite. The clerestory window at the ridge brings in southern natural light throughout the day.

Vaulted ceiling with built-in bookshelves creating a window seat reading nook overlooking the backyard under the pear tree beyond. Smoked oak floor by Shengaris. A single Noguchi pendant with mismatched family heirloom bedside reading lamps offer a simple balance to the natural light from the yards. The cabinetry is highlighted by glass hardware knobs - an understated design highlight for us.

A mural-wrapped home office designed to spark creativity, with custom walnut built-ins and a tailored desk for everyday work.

We took the downstairs down to the bare studds and built it back the same but better. This is the media room

The arched doorways throughout the home are all new additions that the couple chose to feel akin to a Spanish-style hacienda.

Sugarhouse Design & Architecture lightened up the entry hall, thanks to interior fluted glass panels, white oak floors with a contrasting walnut inlay, and custom oak closets that reach to the ceiling (after removing the fussy tray feature there). The bench is custom-designed by Sugarhouse and fabricated by Elwood Design Co in Orange, CA, and the ceiling light is by Modern Forms.

In the primary bedroom, an extended window above the bed lets in more natural light. Cynthia loves to send her daughters snapshots of the wildlife and sunsets she sees from her room.

One of the bedrooms gets lots of California sun, and access to a small patio outside.

A small sitting area is set beside the dining area, as a casual spot for coffee or dessert.
