A circular skylight positioned above the master ensuite shower introduces natural light into the space, allowing the residents to connect with the outside world in every part of the home.
Inspired by Joseph Eichler's designs, the home centers around an open-air atrium.
Architect Darren Schroeder channeled Eichler’s style with a central atrium, twin gables, and post-and-beam construction.
A custom vanity and medicine cabinets lines the wall, and a pocket door leads to the walk-in closet.
The Drum table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin also has brass and bronze accents. The ebonized oak headboard has upholstered insets of tie-dyed kona cotton.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, skylights have been placed in the existing roofline to bring in more natural light. A glass partition and frameless mirror visually expand the space.
The shower is enclosed in travertine and topped with a skylight.
The new bathroom has a walnut vanity with a limestone counter. The floors are travertine. High windows bring in plentiful natural light, glimpses of treetops, and maintain privacy.
