In the kitchen, the countertops are Absolute Black wire-brushed granite from Walker Zanger, the cooktop and hoods are from Viking, the dishwashers are Miele, and the serious coffee setup (Mel is the former CEO of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) includes an espresso machine from La Marzocco and grinders by Mazzer. Bradley designed the cherrywood veneer cabinetry, which was made and installed by Marmol Radziner, with a custom piece by Alaco Ladder Company.

A poured concrete patio sits between the two buildings. “I wanted to include those expressed 'joint' lines as part of the design, so our very clever landscaper put a shallow cut along the concrete once it had cured,” says Murphy.

Murphy took a completely different approach to the color and material palette in the second house. “We wanted to show that with very small changes, you can have a totally different space, and there's a lot of potential in these little houses,” says Murphy. Custom shelving, made of stained oak and metal, anchors one end of the living room, with an armchair from Southwood Home.

The existing sunroom was given more light with Anderson Windows & Doors, as well as more coziness with a new fireplace.

The owners of this home opted to trade a traditional Cape Cod look for a more Scandinavian vibe.

The circular home floats above the land, surrounded by the wooded hillside. “You feel like you’re amongst the trees,” says Meera.

The home enjoys a spectacular sunset from its hillside perch. Acapulco Lounge Chairs in Pink from CB2 grace the front lawn.

A flat front yard, with drought-tolerant landscaping and a spa, is a place for gardening, lawn games, and congregating with guests.

“Everything was in fairly bad repair,” says Jessy Moss, recalling her first impression of seeing the 1961 post-and-beam home on Zillow. But one feature that caught her eye—and hinted to her that the house might be worth a visit—was the cluster of circular pavers that enlivened the driveway. Later, after she and her husband, Steve Jocz, bought the home, they had new concrete pavers laid in a similar pattern.

“With the separate levels, children and adults have their own territories but can also come together,” explains Clive.

Light-toned ceramic tile stacked vertically and white quartz counters are a neutral counterpoint to the pops of chartreuse in the cabinetry. Lin interspersed the closed cabinetry with sections of String shelving, from a Scandinavian modular system originally designed by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning in 1949.
