In the bathroom, a custom shower curtain bought from a seller on Etsy named Superior Custom Linens is split in the middle so the couple can enter from the center of the tub. "Every morning you slide them open and it's like, 'Hello to the day,' says Rachel. 'I don't know why more shower curtains aren't like this. Otherwise you have to clamber in from the side.'

The pathway leading to the couple's doorway is lined with plants, and shows just how close the pair live to their neighbors, who have formed a tight-knit community over the past couple years.
