Designed by Minneapolis firm Sala Architects, the 820-square-foot Metal Lark Tower marked the first rental cabin to open at Nordlys Lodging, a 140-acre property in Frederic, Wisconsin. Two years later, he and his wife, Libby, moved into a home made mostly of the giant metal bins, having done much of the work themselves. They share the residence with their year-old daughter, Evie, and Libby’s mother.

Pellegrino worked closely with the project's cabinetmaker and contractor on the kitchen's custom birch plywood cabinetry. She designed the floating and cantilevered shelves, for which the support of the plywood walls was essential.
