Daltile 2x8 Mod Wall navy tile was stacked vertically behind a white oak and marble vanity in the bathroom. An arched mirror continues the motif.

"Our primary closet measures just three feet by six feet, so we worked with California Closets to install floor to ceiling shelves that could store and display our entire wardrobes. We also added vertical storage to our daughter’s closet which enabled us to tuck away our luggage and sentimental items safely out of sight. Instead of feeling cramped, or space challenged, we are thrilled with how perfectly everything fits, and how streamlined our space feels."

The linen closet is a sight to behold with dedicated storage bins from The Container Store so it's all clutter free. Even the Creative Co-op First Aid Kit matches the aesthetic.

The bedroom/office connects to the outdoors via a large sliding glass door. The space's orange accent wall was inspired by Los Angeles sunsets.

A long window was used as a backsplash in the kitchen to bring in even more light to the space.

The kids’ bath has a whole new look that includes orange glass subway tiles by Ann Sacks, ceramic penny tile, an orange trough sink, and sconces from Barn Light Company. The custom recessed medicine chest is made from mahogany with a butternut-colored finish.

The newly renovated second story includes a laundry room and adjacent bath behind the primary bedroom. “The laundry and bath are floating in the middle of the space,” Sutherland says.

In the primary bedroom, the custom bed is joined by a side table from Dims and a pendant by Norm Architects for Menu.

A pattern from Juju Papers gives the walls of the powder room a playful character.

Local cabinetmaker Peter Pomerantz made the custom, white oak cabinetry and Flywheel Industrial Arts fabricated the steel hood. “It’s about lines and shadows; no hardware,” Herrmann says.

Classic white Victorian tiles wrap around the room to create an expansive backsplash.

Generous light flows into the kitchen, complete with a custom cabinetry and a central island.

After: The new fireplace surround is make of Cava Tile and a custom salmon pink grout that Michelle mixed with the contractor. "I could have ordered something off the shelf, but this enabled me more freedom to get the color closer to what I wanted,

After: The second bedroom is now a sunroom and TV lounge, and Michelle's favorite space in the home.
