The simplified post-and-beam construction reflects Bobâs penchant for economy. âThe house is designed on a sixteen-foot grid, which reduces a lot of waste of materials in random lengths and sizes,â he says. âI was able to build it entirely out of dimensional lumber rather than engineered lumber.â The wood is painted a custom charcoal color from Sherwin-Williams.
The amount of time Melody and Bob spend at Adelaide âebbs and flows,â says Bob, depending on commitments in Nashville, where he works on projects and Melody owns a salon and bathhouse. âWhen weâre here, we make amazing food, swim, goof off, and go for walks,â says Melody. âWe walk the whole loop of the property.â
