“I studied architecture as an undergrad, and even though I’m in interiors now, that education of not overpopulating spaces, of letting the building be seamless, has always carried through for me,” says Caroline.

The coop grew out of the garden. "We were so excited to have a yard," Snyder recalls. Martin started growing a vegetable bed and soon a friend and owner of Naomi's Organic Farm Supply suggested hens. "She got us excited about having chickens as an extension of our garden," Snyder says.

The UK-based firm Raskl Art + Architectural calls this a “luxury minimalist chicken coop.” Materials are Valchromat (Atlantic Plywood) and Iroko wood. The nesting area is denoted by an egg shape perforated into the façade with a CNC machine, and the roof lifts with the help of gas struts.
