This dining nook features an Oscar Tusquets table and Peroba do Camp flooring by Oscar Ono.

When two actors purchased their West Village abode, it came with a 180-degree view of the Hudson River—and a frenetic series of odd angles and partitioned-off spaces. Designer Suchi Reddy renovated the interiors, keeping the bank of windows unobstructed while folding in a fleet of modern furnishings and built-ins. “My directive was to create something very comfortable, calm, textural, and modern,” explains Reddy, who used a palette of reclaimed oak, bleached wood floors, blonde millwork, and white plaster. “It’s a space where you want to linger,” she says. An ExoFly pendant by Laurent Massaloux hangs above a custom WRK dining table surrounded by Morph side chairs by Zeitraum and a banquette covered in Glant’s Liquid Leather.

Breakfast banquette

The café’s polished concrete floors are ground down to “expose some of the aggregate,” Mike says. Vintage leather chairs balance a custom banquette, upholstered in a forest-green wool felt by Kravet.

Shumaker Design + Build Associates honed in on natural light, rich tones, and earthy materials to update this Chicago kitchen. The renovated kitchen now boasts a ten-foot-long banquette paired with a West Elm table, offering seating for everything from quick breakfasts to grand dinners.

Custom mill works wraps the sunroom overlooking the landscaped backyard.

A peek into the master bath.

The media room is clad in floor-to-ceiling oak panels. The custom-made, built-in oak banquette was designed by ABD Studio and upholstered in a striped linen. The eclectic mix of artwork is from the collection of the owner and includes pieces from Kiki Smith, Kenneth Noland, and a sculptural work from Mary Shaffer. The rug and side tables are vintage.

The mudroom is an essential stop for the family after skiing and other outdoor excursions. Lockers provide neat storage for all their gear.

The cozy living area features a refurbished Børge Mogensen chair and a Recover sofa from Bolia. The coffee table was sourced from Jotex.

Firebrick lines both the wall and floor so that the fire can be lit right on the ground for an ultra-cozy night in.

Quartersawn oak built-ins throughout the house were fabricated by Toronto cabinetmaker Built Work Design.

After: The dining area features a table from Portland showroom Hive Modern, a light fixture by Ohio-based designer Andrew Neyer, and a painting by Rebekah Andrade. The chairs are vintage, while the built-in bench is a custom creation of local furniture maker Shane Staley.

The couple designed the great room to be a comfortable room for gathering with friends and hosting dinner parties.

Custom metal shelves display books. The flooring throughout is white oak, and its color syncs nicely with the tones in the brick—inside and out.
