Even the windows can be concealed with custom plywood coverings.

On a garden plot they lease just 20 minutes from their apartment in Warsaw, Poland, Magda Grabowska-Wacławek and Grzegorz Wacławek built a tiny house in a striking red-blue colorway.

This formerly beige Brooklyn home now relishes in a range of blues, greens, and orangey-reds, with terrazzo and tile to spare.

The second-floor bathroom includes a washroom that can be closed off from the bathing area with a sliding glass door. Bauer and Magid can supervise the kids’ baths or use it as a steam room.

HUTCH Design used organic materials and earthy tones to transform this former concrete pig shed outside of London.

For the combination table and workstation, Garneau sourced the hydraulic hardware from Linak. The cooktop and oven are from Smeg, and the low-flow faucet is from KWC Livello. Equipped with Hettich hardware, the backsplash rolls up to reveal a spice rack.

The wet bar was given a custom cherry top, and the couple added wall molding for texture.

A creek-side sauna and hot tub round out the amenities at Snow.

Walnut cabinets are paired with Pietra Grey marble on the counters and backsplash. The island stools are by furniture designer Andrew Dominic, while James Mudge fashioned the dining table and chairs, and the light is Arkivio. A display cabinet has fluted glass, in a nod to the home’s original midcentury era.

Warwas offset the rear of the ADU to accommodate the power lines running behind the house, and he designed a window in the office/guest room upstairs that meets the roof in the same way that the window off the dining area/kitchen meets the ground.

Leah designed a stone planter that works as an herb garden and vinyl storage, noting that

Hanna’s sleeping suite includes a bathtub by Badeloft. Windows, cut into walls covered with matte white porcelain penny tiles with blue grout, provide views. Only the home’s concrete raft “basement” is windowless; it contains a Tesla battery, the water pump, and storage closets.

Space upstairs was tight but Money managed to fit in an ensuite with a small wall-mounted sink and another sensor-operated sky light.
