The Czech Republic has a tradition of gardening huts, where people have small plots they can visit to escape the city. In Prague, biology professors Adam Petrusek and Tereza Petruskova commissioned local firm Byro Architects to replace their hut, building a circa 200-square-foot pavilion that joins a shed where the couple stores their tools.
Light-toned ceramic tile stacked vertically and white quartz counters are a neutral counterpoint to the pops of chartreuse in the cabinetry. Lin interspersed the closed cabinetry with sections of String shelving, from a Scandinavian modular system originally designed by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning in 1949.
The rosy glow reflecting off maple leaves and the brick of neighboring homes inspired Maureen to choose the blush pink bedding. The soft linen bedding, from Hawkins New York, along with the minimal decor, the calming natural green of the plants, and the warm wood furniture combine to make the room an inviting, spa-like space.
