The first floor also includes a home office, hidden behind leaded glass French doors. The space features a wood-paneled fireplace and earth-toned furnishings.

"I've always loved the way buildings look when they're under construction, and the walls of the office are basically like open framing," Davis says.

A timber-lined study on the upper floor of the parents' suite overlooks a private outdoor courtyard open to the sky and tree canopy.

With its sloped Douglas fir ceiling, expansive glass, and elm built-ins crafted by Wolf Melian, the upstairs study resembles a Crestwood Hills classic. Case Study sofas that double as guest beds meet the client’s request for convertible space. The rug from Amadi Carpets, pillows sewn from vintage Swedish fabric, and painting by Sylvan Lionni inject red into the earthy palette.

Below a twisting steel staircase sits a stool from the impossibly rare 1967 Girard Group for Herman Miller (it was only produced for one year). Stevens rennovated the home from top to bottom, including the Japanese-style fence in the garden.

This home was a true test of our abilities. In collaboration with the Zada Development Group, we built this home from the ground up to show what we are capable of. Our goal was to build a luxury house with the highest quality materials and create a truly authentic home that would stand the test of time. We utilized the full resources of our construction and design team, and our showroom. To build this authentic French Country home we used everything from cedar and mahogany to copper and bluestone. The whole house uses a Character grade white oak flooring, broken up with elegant Herringbone wood flooring in the walkways. We wanted to use materials that would last for decades and reflect the home’s authentic style, like real stucco and real mahogany instead of a composite material. To support the weight of our materials we used engineered lumber and engineered steel to reinforce the floors. We also carefully sourced materials to find what was most authentic to the time period.
