Terreo Studio aimed to make this seven-unit apartment complex look “unrecognizable, so it stays a mystery from the outside.” From the white stone facades, through the interior marble and complimentary soft palette of the furnishings, to the open floor plan that meanders between courtyards, the architects took cues from Grecian architecture: Natural materials are used in abundance to create a structure that embraces the environment.

The outdoor space includes a fire pit.

The owners of this home selected a geometric-patterned glass tile backsplash by Island Stone. The glass tile keeps the space bright, and the pattern adds interest.

A Deep Thoughts Chaise by Blu Dot occupies a sunny spot by the new windows. The firm chose leather for its durability with regards to the owners’ two cats.

Throughout, Erik and Bill repeated and “wrapped” materials, like the birch plywood near the front entrance, which extends from the bench to the coat rack.

A natural backdrop provides a focal point for this newly built residence in Fargo, North Dakota. Designed by Peterssen/Keller Architecture, with interior work by Martha Dayton Design, the multi-gabled structure features a facade of white stucco and stone, along with contrasting dark stained tongue-and groove cedar cladding and standing-seam metal roofs.

The house is oriented north-south, with the broad side of the structure facing east-west. This guarantees not only gorgeous views of the sunset, but also minimizes wind exposure.

The backyard is an outdoor sanctuary filled with foliage and natural wood.
