Perhaps the biggest difference between Can Luna and the fincas of 16th century Ibiza are the windows.  Early fincas maximized temperature efficiency by minimizing window size;  small windows also offered more protection on a tiny island under constant threat of invasion. With access to modern, super-efficient glass and insulation materials, Blakstad likes to maximize window size on his designs.
