Warwas finished the high-ceilinged ADU kitchen with a skylight and a large square window that fills the space with natural light. The artworks are by Antonio.

Antonio designed the console table using a zebrawood plank that once adorned the fireplace, which was removed during the renovation. In the dining area beyond, pendants by Torbjörn Vejvi hang above the Kayu teak table from Design within Reach.

Displaying canvases by Steven Criqui (left) and Antonio Adriano Puleo (right), the transformed living room features a sculptural ceiling accented by a grate that brings light from the skylight in the expanded attic space above. Puleo designed the geometric print on the bench, which was made by James Melinat of Reigns Studio, who also built the custom cabinetry and bookshelves. Trifold sliders from Fleetwood open to the rear yard.

The bedroom receives morning light from a large window and a ventilation panel that opens to the garden.

The rough concrete is balanced out with a peach coloured liquid floor trough-out. The concrete walls form the ideal backdrop for the homeowners’ art collection, existing holes and plugs define the position of every artwork.

The roof of the garden house and main extension have been built from metal decking, which is left exposed in the interior. "Metal decking is almost never used for domestic projects but it allowed us to create an articulated ceiling with linear ‘vaults’ or ‘waves’ instead of the boring more traditional ‘cover it with gypsum boards’ approach,

The asymmetrical shape and tilted lines reinforce the impression that the cabins are capsized ships.

The renovated basement has curtains made of shiny bubble wrap, steel grate catwalks, and reflective surfaces everywhere.

Monica’s side is more static so she can organize her drawings and work supplies.

Ikea bed slats line the lofted bed.

The designers painted the walls of the living room bright white and outfitted the space with custom millwork beneath the fireplace and modernist light fixtures and furniture.

Integrated storage custom crafted with walnut lends warmth and texture to the water vapor fireplace and stark white fire surround.

Ray sits at the central hearth on the north end of the comfortable sunken living area. From this perspective, you can see how the interior spaces flow into one another, passing one half-level up into the breakfast nook and kitchen and out from there onto the overgrown hillside. The various built-in furnishings have all been there since the house's construction.
