The flooring throughout the bathroom is Artistic Tile, in Venezia Terrazzo White. Wood paneling on walls and ceiling is more Rummer appropriate, with a Blu Dot mirror and In common with sconces. The vanity has Linear Standard pulls.

In the dining area, a Nelson Saucer Bubble Pendant hangs above the dining table.

In the bathrooms, the walls are treated with microcement, which is waterproof but brings in a layer of texture and softness. The microcement is from Firenze.

The Risoms used the semi-custom Space Theory for their kitchen design, and Tom and carpenter Chris Mascola installed the pre-assembled pieces in place. Space Theory was founded in 2019 by kitchen design company Henrybuilt.

The bookcase that separates the communal living space from the bedrooms is made of 12" x 10" x 30" and 60” plywood boxes.

Nicole Boone stands in the kitchen of her renovated ranch house in the View Park section of Los Angeles. A finance executive with an eye for art and design, Nicole enlisted the help of Max Kuo and Danielle Wagner of architectural studio AllThatIsSolid to open up the home’s 1920s layout and bring her love of art, color, and nature to the 1,563-square-foot space. Like many ranches in the hilly neighborhood, the house steps gently down the street, creating three interior levels.

The countertop is 4030 Pebble by Caesarstone atop custom Ash cabinetry. The faucet is by Dornbracht.

Ash wood was used for all the casework, including this built-in cabinet and floating shelves at the landing.

The bathroom maintains the calm, nature-inspired color palette with subtle hues like beige, a taupe-y green, and wood. Like other spaces, natural light is abundant thanks to a window.

Yuan relocated the utility functions to a peripheral area of the house and created a breakfast niche that overlooks the sunken den. It has sconces by L’aviva Home, a Sun At Six table, and upholstery by Johanna Gullichsen. The artwork is by Erin Lynn Welsh.

Isaza-Smith suggested painting the pressed metal detail in the rafters in order to better showcase the century-old hoop pine beams. The pendant light is a custom design by Lana Launay, while the shelving is a simple IKEA bookcase hack.

The vanity has a walnut base with an Arabescato Marble counter. A mirror is inset to be flush with the Umi Torimu tile, in Oat Glossy from DDS Tile.

The preserved wood walls and ceiling are painted Benjamin Moore White Dove and the floors are concrete. The painting on the stone wall is by Kate Zimmerman Turpin.

The architect removed the clunky addition enclosing the front door and reinstated the original door and sidelites. New and restored board-and-batten siding is painted Roycroft Bronze Green by Sherwin Williams.

The outdoor pergola reflects the color of the home and adds warmth by using the natural color of the wood used for the horizontal elements, repeated vertically in the fence.
