The expansion presented an opportunity for the couple to maintain harmony in the location, fitting the structure into the environment while utilizing biophilic design to create a home as their sanctuary. “On the outside, we used the same windows, siding, and metal roof to link everything together as one new house,” says Jenny. “Inside, we relied more on the key principles of architectural design to achieve the same effect: movement, balance, repetition, unity, and rhythm.”
