Rebuilt by architect Vincent J. Proby after a tragic fire, the Teasley Residence has views from the Hollywood Hills to the downtown skyline.

The wall behind the bed is covered in gold flecked hand painted wallpaper, Cosmos in Korinthian Sea, by Sarkos. The beechwood and marble nightstands are by Crate and Barrel, and the brass swing arm sconces are from Mitzi Hudson Valley.

Across the room, a vintage Poul Cadovius teak wall unit displays the couple’s cherished finds, including a collection of miniature food and sneaker sculptures.

The architect used horizontal slats for privacy, but alternated them on the fence and second-floor deck to allow sunlight and breezes through. Solar panels atop the roof heat the water; a green roof is in the process of growing in. The project was awarded Green Renovation of the Year and Best Housing Detail at the 2009 Ottawa Housing Design Awards.
