The new material palette is a clean, sophisticated application of blackened steel, oak floors and cabinetry, and white walls.

By shifting the staircase the architects created a hidden library nook. Hidden amongst Klara’s collection of books it’s her favorite part of the apartment.

A large wood relief artwork by Edwin Jefferey overlooks the new catwalk bridge. Klara first saw Jeffrey’s work in Folk Art magazined before purchasing the piece from a gallery in 2023.

The reading nook is on the other side of the top floor—the sleeping area is in the middle between this area and the tub.

Guests can occupy the front L-shaped seating area comfortably. Sustainable cork flooring, Birch wood built-ins and natural decor form a cohesive palette.

Custom-built L-Shaped sofas are upholstered in Pindler exclusive fabrics. Throw blankets add an extra layer of warmth and coziness.

The couple's daughter reads in the cozy nook just inside the front door painted in a vibrant blue from Benjamin Moore. Of the storage area below, Fredrik says, "In Sweden, there's always a place to sit and take off your shoes. This is a version of that."

At the other end of the family room is an office area.

The moldings were already painted white in the primary bedroom, so the design team ran with it, creating a calming, neutral space. They paired the white walls with light wood furniture and sconces by Schoolhouse Electric.

After an update, the dining room dry bar is party ready. The floors and brown woodwork are original. The ceiling and crown molding are painted White Opulence in a flat finish.
