The ceramic tiles were created with irregular glaze, which mimics the reflections of the harbor nearby.

Quarry Pavers from Seneca Tiles cover the bathroom. All of the fixtures are from Sigma, and they were originally chrome before Grey stripped and refinished them.

In the main bath, Arto tile from Tempest Tileworks in turquoise was combined with Benjamin Moore paint in the color Boca Raton.

The small bathroom on the first level features concrete block walls and ceramic mosaic tile for the shower walls; a skylight in the shower supplies an indoor-outdoor experience.

The renovation upgraded the home’s infrastructure from gas to electric, and Isaac built the minimalist range hood.

Homeowner Isaac Hase installed custom cabinetry from Wisconsin cabinetmaker Woodcraft Specialties.

One renovation request, homeowner Isaac Hase says, “was having a place to drop your shoes.” At the mudroom end of a run of kitchen cabinets, you’ll find another feature the couple asked for. “We wanted to have a dedicated, visible place for our little stash of cookbooks,” Karoline says.

Despite the space’s relatively small size, its galley layout, with countertops on each side, easily accommodates multiple cooks.

The breakfast area sits directly beneath the clerestory window pop-up, or scoop.

The bathroom is sleek and understated.

Master Bathroom

The vanity area in the master bathroom is open, allowing light and air to circulate. The bathroom vanities are custom made by Jerry Short Cabinets with hardware from Rocky Mountain Hardware.

Tile by Zia Tile runs along a wall of the upstairs bathroom. The cabinets are by Cabinets quick, and the floor tile is by Concrete Collaborative.

A sculptural skylight bathes the master bathroom in natural light. A single level of tile floor allows easy access to the full height glass shower at the room's end.

Guest Bathroom

A large window in the bathroom shower enhances the indoor-outdoor experience that is central to Southern California living.

The primary suite’s soothing bathroom space features a deep soaking tub.

Once the sun sets, the private side deck with soaking tub offers an idyllic setting for stargazing.
