Outdoor spaces don’t get much more spectacular than this sprawling patio adjoining a palatial country home. A natural country chic vibe was achieved using Techo-Bloc’s Borealis slab in Smoked Pine—an innovative and durable concrete product that replicates the look of timber. This is complemented by Blu Grande slab in Shale Grey, which has also been used to create stone-look pathways that connect the patio to the rest of the garden.
Create sinuous garden walls or curved poolsides with Techo-Bloc’s Bullnose Grande cap—used in Greyed Nickel here to craft a perfectly circular pool. The collection features a tapered shape for clean curves, and the rounded edge has a smooth texture that makes it ideal for poolsides and seat walls. The perfect form of the pool is complemented by the more linear Blu Grande slab, which paves the rest of the area.
Originally built in 1940, this 3,260-square-foot home has undergone a complete redesign, reimagining the property as a midcentury-inspired, contemporary estate. The renovation of the four-bedroom, five-bath residence also included the addition of an entirely new wing and landscaping including cacti and palm trees . Highlights of the home include an open indoor/outdoor floor plan, a vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling in the great room, expansive glazing, and gorgeous desert landscaping across the 16,000-square-foot lot. The iconic home also comes with a bit of local history, as it was previously owned by Florian Boyd, the former Mayor of Palm Springs from 1953 to 1957.
