One of two bathrooms has floor-to-ceiling tiles in a calming blue shade.

Much of the home’s furniture was designed by Wu, Emily, or their artistic community. The kitchen island was fabricated by Wu and the curtain panels by friend Meg Callahan. That’s not to say the whole home was handmade—a Muuto pendant hangs in the middle of the room.

Storage was built in all down the hallway, making efficient use of a linear space.

Seattle-based Shed Architecture & Design worked with kitchen systems company Space Theory to create Quynh-Vy’s dream kitchen, complete with pink cabinets, open walnut shelving, and a 12-foot marble island.

Shahane changed the layout and in so doing, restored the window to its original larger size. Heath Ceramics tile wraps the room, Stone White on the floor and Modern Blue on the walls. A Foscarini Gregg sconce hangs above the Azzura Ceramica Elegance Squared sink.

The four different bathrooms all have a different style. This one has a playful blue, gray, and white motif.

The new kitchen features ceiling-to-countertop tiles in a grid pattern, which reappears throughout the home. The globe flush mount overhead is from Anthropologie, while the hardware is from Altas Homewares and Alno Hardware.

The kitchen acts as the family hub, its multicolored surfaces anchored by a black tile backsplash, sprinkled with dots of uncolored, earth-toned tile.

The new downstairs bathroom is brightened by two lighter-shade tiles.

In what architect Michael Howells calls a family bathroom, the toilet, vanities and bath/shower are all divided by pocket doors.
